Established in 1810 Hillarys Coachworks built their reputation building horse carriages. Therefore, Lythouse looked to their rich heritage as inspiration for their brand overhaul, re-connecting their roots and re-positioning as experienced specialists in their field.

We created a new brand identity for Hillarys Coachworks that was inspired by their automotive heritage, taking inspiration from their beginnings as coachbuilders. We re-positioned the brand to appeal to the classic car sector as well as provide a historic prestige to their brand. A cohesive and responsive brand that delivered a concours-like restoration from the ground up.

    Translating the new brand visual language into a legible yet characterful typography system. We presented a refined typography system that resonated with the heritage and location of the Royal Tunbridge Wells, targeting the upmarket consumers that live there.

    Staying true to their longstanding colour blue, we re-positioned with a darker colour system to give a more premium feel. We accentuated with a Royal Blue to reflect the royal nature of the town of Tunbridge Wells.
